I’ve had the grand pleasure this week to spend time with my daughter and her family, including four children under six. The youngest is Asher, he is four months old and quite the amazing little soul.
As I was talking with him, I was thinking about what I’d like him to come through babyhood and childhood with. This is what I came up with.
“You are enough. You are kind. You are loved and you can do and be anything you want to be and do.” I think the first three might be the lines from the movie, “The Help”. I also want him to know it’s going to be ok. No matter what he faces, what his life is like, it’s all ok and no matter how hard he is crying because who knows why, it will be ok. He will be ok. He is so much greater than this little body he came into and so much greater than whatever might come up in his life.
You are enough. Asher is enough, each of his siblings are enough, his parents are enough and so are you! You do not have to do or be anything different than who you are to be enough. It’s not a competition, it’s not a race, this life we live, is an experience. That’s it. You are enough.
You are kind. Be kind, it is the most important thing of all. Be kind to yourself and to others. In the movie, ‘The Help, there were many characters who were not kind. It’s been my motto ever since. Even when you feel bad or are having a bad day, you can be kind to the people around you. It is easy for Asher’s siblings to get all over each other and to be not kind to each other with their words. (They are 6, 5 and 3.)
You are loved. This seems to be the missing link for so many people on the planet. Even if they know in theory that they are loved by someone, it is an experience to not believe it. If you happen to know in the cells of your being that you are loved, then life can flow off your shoulders a bit easier. If you knew you were loved, by Creation itself, by the Universe how would you be different in life? I think we would all be more confident, trusting and loving.
You can do and be anything you want to be and do. As I was thinking this the six year old was having a fit about not being able to do what she wanted to do in the moment, so I want to qualify this. You can be anything you want to be in the Universe, you can develop your Beingness and from there you can do anything you want, if and when you put your mind to it. That doesn’t not give you permission to behave badly or to be mean to the other people around you, it only inspires you to your own greatness.
There is nothing that can stop you from expanding into your greatness except you, your mind and your experiences. They don’t mean anything when you know the truth of who you are and who you are here to be. You are a beloved of the Universe! You are enough. You are loved. You are kind.
You are amazing and please, don’t ever, ever forget it!
I think this message for the infant/infinite is for each of us!
Go forth and be the miracle that you are, bring your light fully to the world and let your gifts be from your deepest essence and heart.
