Today, we are attending our grandson’s high school graduation and I’m nostalgic. I love the graduation speeches and the inspiration to go forth and live your life to the fullest! I love the expansive nature of the graduates about to take life on and head out into the big wild world.
I love how so many of them are dreaming big, feeling unstoppable and invincible! I love the freshness and innocence of the new graduated young person.
Our grandson has aspirations to be a pilot and he is well on his way, after completing a pilot focused high school education. He is all excited to get to work at his summer job and to make some money and to head out to college to continue his pilot education. It’s a breath of fresh air when one so young knows what he wants in life.
For others of us, a bit further along in life, we could use a reminder to go for our dreams! Recently I came across a book entitled, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, by Bronnie Ware. Why, you might be asking am I jump from high school graduation to the dying? Bronnie says that one of the most common regrets is: “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, no the life others expected of me.
This brings me to the topic of today. What would you love? What do you want to do? What do you think? Let’s live life with no regrets! Let’s lay down the voices of others either in life or in our heads and step into the life of our dreams.
What would you really love to do, if it were just up to you and there were no reasons you couldn’t do it? Do that thing! Stand up with courage, like the young people just starting out and stretch your wings again. Set aside all the expectations you think others might be having for you and find yourself.
Stand up and be True to You! What might be different if you did? What rules might you break? What boundaries might you stretch? What limitations might you ignore?
Then do it! Go for it! Identify that which sparks your heart and soul and follow it! Life is short – oh so short so get about the business of being true to you!
Let me know how I can support you in stepping into your truest dreams.
